From the beginning of April 2023, to be a stallholder at the Canberra Fashion Market, Three Sixty Fashion Market, Canberra Kids Market, and the Canberra Christmas Market, Stallholders will need to have their own Public Liability Insurance. If you are selling products that could pose a risk to customers under certain circumstances, such as food or cosmetics, you will need both Public Liability and Product Liability Insurance.
Over the last twenty years, we have been able to obtain market cover for the market and our stallholders at an affordable premium and not require Stallholders to provide their own Insurances. We have always absorbed insurance premium increases. We are no longer able to absorb these costs and reluctantly are forced to follow the practice of other market businesses and ask stallholders to provide their own insurances.
There are many companies offering Public Liability Insurance and Product Liability Insurance online. We cannot recommend insurance companies but the cheapest insurance we have found is https://mymarketinsurance.com.au but please search for a company and insurance that will suit you.
Before you attend a market, you will need to email us details of your Public Liability Insurance Policy and, where necessary, your Product Liability Insurance details.
